A message from our founder:

I still remember how stressed I felt when applying to high schools. After moving into NYC the summer of eighth grade, I felt alone and confused trying to make sense of the complicated high school admissions process.

As a team based in Stuyvesant High School, we've experienced firsthand how overwhelming NYC’s admissions system can be, with its competitive exams, numerous pathways, and complicated online systems. We also saw how much price tags stand in the way, especially when some families pay thousands for prep programs… while others are simply left behind.

So, I built Empower-ED: a free, student-led support system designed to close that gap. We wanted to create the kind of resources we wish we had… one that offers test prep, mentorship, clarity, and community. Students shouldn’t have to navigate this all alone.

We believe us students understand each other’s struggles better than anyone. That’s why Empower-ED is for students, by students—and always will be :)!
